Lanterns
Fold a piece of construction paper in half length-wise. Cut slits down from the fold about one inch apart and leaving about an inch at the bottom - do not cut through. Unfold and roll paper widthwise to staple into a tube. Add a paper handle and decorate with stickers.

Create paper bag puppets, stick puppets, or paper maché puppets depicting the animal of the year that you are celebrating.

Paper Cuts
Have children pencil in a simple design from black construction paper and cut the design out to make a Chinese Paper Cut.

Dragon Masks
Precut eye holes in paper plates. Provide the children with crepe paper, paint, glitter, construction paper, etc. to create their dragon masks. When dry, attach a tongue depressor to the back of the mask for a handle.

Dragon Dance Game
Create Dragon Masks, put on the music, and have the dragon's dance. When the music stops, the dragons must sit. Last one to sit down in 'caught'. Dance continues with all participating.
