Game Genie An UNLICENSED Accesory by Codemasters (Galoob) Reviewed by Adrock gbcam@hotmail.com Released: 1992 Made for: Regular Game Boy Total Input of Codes: 3 codes (GS=4) **************************************************************************** Opening Snide Remarks and First Impressions: Wow. You can cheat with this thing. Infinite Missles for Metroid II? Infinite hearts for Zelda IV? Wow. Liked: It has a little thing on the back to put your codebook in. You can turn the codes on and off. You can press a little button on the Game Genie to reset, instead of pressing all the buttons at once. You can put in up to three codes. You can go to the Galoob web sites to find codes. Hated: It doesn't save your codes. You have to put them in all over again every time. It weighs down the Game Boy Pocket and Color. On a Pocket it is hard to turn your power switch off. And it won't even fit in a Super Game Boy. Obviously, Galoob wasn't thinking about size when they made this, just convienience. And it... Kind of voids your warranty. Final Words: There's not much else I can say! If you want to cheat, then buy this thing, dangit! If you want the best, you should buy a Game Shark, because it is much smaller and it works perfectly with all types of Game Boys. Plus, it has a four code capacity instead of three. Galoob has given up on making game enhancers. So they don't care about it anymore. But at FuncoLand, I found the Game Genie was more in my price range. It's not like it's totally useless anymore, I still use it with my Game Boy Pocket. And I think you can use it to get Mew on Pokemon, but I'm not sure.
