Tetris Game by Nintendo Reviewed by Adrock gbcam@hotmail.com Size: 512K Save: None Released: 1989 Works with: All Game Boys. **************************************************************************** Opening Snide Remarks: It's Tetris, one of the best video games of all time, with everlasting appeal to all types of gamers. Many, or actually most all of the puzzle games after Tetris have taken some elements from Tetris. **************************************************************************** Gameplay Descripion: Nintendo made a smart choice by making this Game Boy's launch title. Anyone can pick this game up and play it. The only flaw is no battery to save your scores. Liked: What is there not to like about Tetris? Hated: No battery. **************************************************************************** Graphics Description: It looks like Tetris. Tetris looks simple. In this case, simple is good. Liked: I like how this game looks a lot like Tetris... Oh wait, it is Tetris. Hated: The bible says it is wrong to hate. **************************************************************************** Sound/Music Description: Awesome Russian dance tunes. They go with Tetris like sugar with coffee and cream. Sadly, Tetris DX left these great tunes out in place of some fair tunes with hardly any beat. Shame, shame, shame. Liked: Do a russian jig! Hated: After a while, that Game Boy Sound dial won't move up anymore. **************************************************************************** Play Control/Game Design: Fluid. Funky. Perfect. Liked: Now you're playing with power. This is a pinmark in play control perfection. Hated: You may have problems controlling Tetris if the Game Boy is made of soap and you are playing with wet rubber gloves. **************************************************************************** Improve: The sequel and deluxe version are OK, but for the most part, I say don't mess with perfection. RIYL: Tetris 2, Tetris DX **************************************************************************** Final Words: You probably already have this game and you're reading this review just for fun. If you don't, shame on you, go get it. **************************************************************************** Score Gameplay: ***** Graphics: ***** Sound/Music: ***** Play Control/Game Design: ***** Personal Opinion: ***** Total: 25 out of 25 Final Score: %100 **************************************************************************** Currently Known Codes: Super Hard: Hold up and press start at the title screen to warp your game play ten levels up.
