Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3 Game by Nintendo Reviewed by Robby Cox koi@magicnet.net Size: 4 Megabits Save: Battery: 3 save slots Released: 1993 Works with: all Gameboy versions Opening Snide Remarks: Wario Land looks like a very cool game. I have played Wario Land 2 and it absolutely rules! I just hope this game can live up to my expectations. Gameplay: The gameplay in this game is fairly simplistic. You must get from point A to point B, without getting killed. But the power-ups are the most interesting thing in the game. Wario can wear a helmet with horns, which then increases his strength when he shoulder-blocks enemies. He can wear a dragon helmet, which blows fire. He can wear a rocket pack. He can do lots of things besides just jump. This is what sets this game apart from every other platform game out there. Graphics: The graphics look great. If you've played Super Mario Land 2 or Wario Land 2 then you know what to expect. Wario is a large and very detailed character, as are his enemies. The different stages have different themes, such as fire and jungle stages. Sound: The sound is great. Wario has lots of different things that he can do and each of these have their own unique sound. Music: The music is very nicely done. The music is different on each level and fits the stages well. Play Control: This is the best feature of this game. The control is dead-on perfect. Wario can do lots of things without the control becoming overly complicated. He can jump, shoulder-block, breathe fire, fly with the aid of a jetpack, stomp the ground, and pick up enemies. All of this is perfectly done. Final Analysis: This is a great game that is one of the best platform games on the Gameboy. The graphics are great. The control is great. The only bad thing about this game is there is no default palette for the Gameboy Color.
