Task: Look for the Den in the wilderness outside the Rogues' camp. Kill all the monsters.
Reward: A free skill point from Akara.

 

Name: Sisters' Burial Grounds
Act: 1
Sequence: 2

Task: Look for Blood Raven in the Burial Grounds next to the Cold Plains. Kill her and the undead that she has spawned.
Reward: A free rogue mercenary and the ability to hire more from Kashya from then on.

 

Name: The Search For Cain
Act: 1
Sequence: 3
Given by: Akara
Task: Go through the Underground Passage to the Dark Wood, search for the Tree of Inifuss, and recover the Scroll. Bring the scroll to Akara who will translate it. Touch the cairn stones in the order indicated on the scroll. This will open up a portal to the ruins of Tristram. Step through and rescue Deckard Cain from the cage he's imprisoned in.
Reward: Free item identification from Cain for the rest of the game plus a random ring and a lifetime 10% discount from Akara.

 

Name: The Forgotten Tower
Act: 1
Sequence: 4
Given by: Other
Task: Ask Charsi, Akara, or Kashya about the mysterious ruins. Explore the ruins and destroy the evil countess who inhabits it.
Reward: A large amount of gold and a few magical items found at the bottom of the tower.

 

Name: Tools of the Trade
Act: 1
Sequence: 5
Given by: Charsi
Task: Look for the Horadric Malus in the Monastery Barracks. Kill the Smith, a creature very like the Butcher from the original Diablo, that guards it. Bring it back to Charsi.
Reward: Charsi will take any non-jewelry, ordinary item and turn it into a rare item of the same type.

 

Name: Sisters to the Slaughter
Act: 1
Sequence: 6
Given by: Deckard Cain
Task: Infiltrate the monastery and find the Catacombs. Explore them to find Andariel's lair. Kill her and her minions.
Reward: Two magical items from Andariel and the ability to take Warriv's caravan east to Act 2.

 

Name: Radament's Lair
Act: 2
Sequence: 1
Given by: Atma
Task: Venture down into the sewers underneath Lut Gholein using either the trapdoor in the upper part of town or the door near the docks. Head down to the bottom level and find Radament, then assault him and his minions. He can poison you, is magic resistant, and can resurrect his minions. Once you kill Radament, pick up the book and you're on your way.
Reward: A Book of Skill that gives you an extra skill point when used.

 

Name: The Horadric Staff
Act: 2
Sequence: 2

Task: Head into the Dry Hills which are connected to Lut Gholein and find the Halls of the Dead. Head down to level 3 and kill a unique Sabre Cat to get your very own Horadric Cube. Then head to the Far Oasis and find the Sand Maggot Lair, which is just a hole in the ground. Adventure until you reach level 3 and find a unique sand maggot with its head burrowed under the ground. It doesn't attack back, but when it dies it showers the room with some dangerous poison that drains your health quickly as well. In a nearby chest you will find the shaft of the Horadric Staff. Now, you must complete the Tainted Sun quest to get the last piece of the staff. Then put the two staff pieces in the cube and press the transmute button, and voila you'll have the Horadric Staff.
Reward: You gain the Horadric Cube and the Horadric Staff.

 

Name: Tainted Sun
Act: 2
Sequence: 3

Task: Head through the Far Oasis and into the Valley of Snakes, and then into the Claw Viper Temple. You'll find the top of the staff on the second level, which doubles as a pretty good amulet (+10 life, +10 mana, Poison resist 25%).
Reward: The Claw Viper Amulet, which is also the top of the Horadric Staff.

 

Name: The Arcane Sanctuary
Act: 2
Sequence: 4

Task: Jeryhn has now talked to you and you'll now have access to the palace. Head down through the Harem and into the Palace Cellar. On the third level of the Palace Cellar you'll have to kill a unique sand raider who is guarding a portal to the Arcane Sanctuary. Teleport into the Sanctuary and fight your way through the hordes of hell clans and firewall wielding mages. The geography is interesting and twisted here with lots of spiralling staircases. You will need to explore the area until you find the Summoner.
Reward: None

 

Name: The Summoner
Act: 2
Sequence: 5

Task: Simply kill the summoner, who has a wide array of spells but not too many hit points.
Reward: You can read the Summoner's Journal and a portal opens to the Canyon of the Magi.

 

Name: The Seven Tombs
Act: 2
Sequence: 6
Given by: Jerhyn
Task: You need to find the Tomb with the symbol that wasn't represented at the Summoner's lair. You can check in your Quest log if you need help remembering which one it is. Check the north side of the Canyon of the Magi for the tomb with the correct markings and venture inside. Then place the Horadric Staff inside the Horadric Orifice. This will open a door to Duriel's lair. Enter and face the Act 2 boss. Be careful if you have a slow computer, as you will likely die before the game even loads the area. Duriel is a very difficult foe, especially given the small room that he resides in. Kill him and then speak to Tyrael.
Reward: The ability to travel to Act 3.

 

Name: The Golden Bird
Act: 3
Sequence: 1

Task: A lot of people are confused when they begin Act 3 because no one in town will give them a quest. Fear not, just strike out into the wilderness until you find a Unique monster. Kill it, and it will drop a Jade Figurine. Take this to Meshif and he will exchange it for a Golden Bird. Take that to Alkor and he will say to wait a bit then come back for your reward. Don't bother leaving, just click on him again to receive the Potion of Life.
Reward: Potion of Life which gives a permanent +20 to maximum life.

 

Name: Blade of the Old Religion
Act: 3
Sequence: 2

Task: When you arrive in Kurast, Hralti will mention an enchantment that keeps the dockside safe. However, it is weakening, but he remembers that there is a holy Skatsimi blade that could revitalize the enchantment. Head to the Pygmy Village inside of the Flayer Jungle and kill a Unique pygmy that you will find there. He will drop the Gidbinn, which you must take back to Ormus, where you will receive your rare ring.
Reward: A randomly generated rare ring and a free mercenary.

 

Name: Khalim's Will
Act: 3
Sequence: 3
Given by: Deckard Cain
Task: Cain takes this opportunity to remind you that you are in Kurast for a reason. You need to gain entry to Mephisto's lair and destroy him. To do this, you need to assemble a flail called Khalim's Will and use it to destroy the Compelling Orb. First, you need to head to the Spider Forest and locate the Spider Cavern (there is also an Arachnid Lair, which is not what you want). Here you must kill Sszark the Burning in order to grab Khalim's Eye. Now you need to head to the Flayer Dungeon and fight your way down to the third level. There will be a Unique flayer shaman named Witch Doctor Endugu who guards Khalim's Brain. Take it and move on to the Kurast Sewers which are under Upper Kurast and the Kurast Bazaar. The Sewers are huge, but if you persist you will find Khalim's Heart here. Finally, you must journey to Travincal and find the flail. It is held by one of the High Council members who are there. When you have all four components, put them in the cube and transmute them to gain a powerful flail called Khalim's Will. Unfortunately, you will lose it soon.
Reward: None.

 

Name: Lam Esen's Tome
Act: 3
Sequence: 4
Given by: Alkor
Task: This is probably the most overlooked quest in the game as many people just don't talk to Alkor during the crucial period. It will be available as soon as you enter Lower Kurast, which is another reason many people miss it, because they skip stright to Durance 2. Then you must simply head to the Kurast Bazaar and find the Ruined Temple. Enter the temple, clear it out, and you will find the Tome. Bring it back to Alkor for your reward.
Reward: Five attribute points.

 

Name: The Blackened Temple
Act: 3
Sequence: 5
Given by: Ormus
Task: You must head to Travincal and kill the High Council members. Then you must find the Compelling Orb and smash it when your newly created Khalim's Will (losing it in the process). The High Council members are very difficult because they are surrounded by mages and various other difficult Act 3 monsters. The screen will be exploding with Blizzards, Meteors, Fireballs, etc. Be careful and bring a mercenary.
Reward: None.

 

Name: The Guardian
Act: 3
Sequence: 6
Given by: Ormus
Task: Head on into the Durance of Hate and face Mephisto. He doesn't seem to be too difficult but his difficulty is compounded if you don't lure away his minions first. Do that, and then face him alone. Once you have defeated him a portal will open to take you to Act 4.
Reward: Access to Act 4.

 

Name: The Fallen Angel
Act: 4
Sequence: 1
Given by: Tyrael
Task: There is a fallen angel by the name of Izual who now inhabits the Plains of Despair. Venture down into Hell and find the Plains, then locate Izual who is randomly wandering the area. He has a Frost Nova attack and a sword, so be careful. After defeating him, go back to Tyrael and receive your two skill points.
Reward: Two skill points.

 

Name: The Hellforge
Act: 4
Sequence: 2
Given by: Deckard Cain
Task: You will now need to destroy Mephisto's Soulstone, which you should have picked up in Act 3. Don't worry if you didn't, because Cain will give you one anyway. Explore Hell until you find a stairway leading down to the River of Flame. Take that and then scout the area looking for the Hellforge. Here you will enter one of the toughest fights in the game, against Hephaesto, who is basically a big brother to the Smith and the Butcher. Not only is he huge and strong, but he is also fast. Once you've defeated him, pick up the Hellforge Hammer, equip it, and click twice on the Hellforge to place and then shatter the Soulstone. There will be a cool animation and many high quality gems will fall to the ground, so it might be a good idea to do this quest alone.
Reward: High quality gems.

 

Name: Terror's End
Act: 4
Sequence: 3
Given by: Tyrael
Task: This is it. The final task in your quest to defeat Diablo for good. You must enter the Chaos Sanctum and open five seals before Diablo will appear. It is a good idea to explore the entire Sanctum and clear out all the random monsters before opening the seals, because three of the seals (randomly picked) will spawn Unique monsters along with a pack of minions. The monsters are The Grand Vizier of Chaos (a burning soul), Lord De Seis (an oblivion knight), and The Infector of Souls (a venom lord). The other two seals won't release anything. Now you must face Diablo, who has several powerful attacks that are mostly based upon Fire and Lightning. Play it carefully and don't be afraid to use town portals to leave and heal. Once you have defeated, the world will shake and you will have 90 seconds to gather the treasure before the game closes, so be prepared.
Reward: Several good items from Diablo and a title added to your name.
