There were 36 schoolgirls from Belfast, then one of them started off a very long song. After she'd finished the first verse, she called out the name of a frie d, who had to sing exactly the same thing, then add the name of another friend, etc, etc, etc. As you'll guess, it took a long time to sing, with 36 verses, unless some of then skipped a turn. And do you know... the only name I can remember out of the who e lot was Ciara. Now does that make it memorable... or what! As for pronunciation... either pronounce it the Irish way... or pick another name! |

Nobody ever pronounces my name correctly (I am the Kiearra version), which can be frustrating especially after se eral years. People seem to refuse to try and opt for Clare or Siarra. I try and correct them a few times, then give up and just mispronounce their name until they get the point. I read Ciara meant great spear thrower. When thinking of a name for a new baby, the name Ciara is really one of the best (the other best names are Molly, Reilly, and Grady). Any mother would be proud to have a Ciara for her own.
