Chadian Cuisine

Home

This is a typical Chadian meal of millet and sauce.  The millet is ground into flour and then cooked with water until it's thick and stiff, then turned out into a bowl to give it the round shape.  Eaten with the right hand, you dip a piece of the millet into the sauce and enjoy!

Peanut Millet

Here's an easy recepie of a traditional Chadian dish.
You can get millet from a whole foods market.  For four people, use about 1 cup of millet and cover with 2 cups of water in a saucepan.  Bring to the boil, reduce heat and simmer for about  15-20 minutes or until millet is tender.  Remove from heat and stir in about 1/2 cup of peanut butter (smooth or crunchy).  That's it!  Serve warm or cool.  Eat with hands or spoon and enjoy.
