Using Smileys or Emoticons

Using smileys or emoticons in our message means using signs to show an expression. There are some purposes. We can only read the words but not the feelings of the sender in a regular email message. Using smileys or emoticons, we can read the feelings of the sender. It can also make the messages more eye-catching. One sign or several letters can represent the meaning of a whole sentence. The smileys or emoticons are common abbreviation. 5 examples and their meanings:

:) = happy

:p = unsatisfied

:( = unhappy

ASAP = as soon as possible

BTW = by the way
