Wow, what can I really say about these guys? They are SOOOO fucking awesome! I was hooked from the first time I ever heard them (which was live at *Punk Strikes Back IV*). Pity I didn't pick up their CD at that time. Well, they totally blew me away. They are such a POWERFUL band....playing with so much emotion and really getting you into the music, and the sound.
*Byathread* are branded "emo hardcore" which I guess is correct. They ARE harder sounding (for emo bands) but in no way do they scream their songs. No, their tunes have melody, and John can actually sing! (Thank God!!)
Their CD (just recently re-released on US label Revelation Records) *The Last of the Daydreams* is constantly being played in whatever musical device I own, and amazingly never ceases to amaze me. I really think they could be the next big thing because there is so much talent here. If only they could get some more exposure! Such a band shouldn't be "wasted".
So *By a Thread* havn't been around TOO long (few years). For the first while, they were still trying to find the "right" members to fit in their band. But after a little searching, they acquired just the right ingredients! They started off playing shows with their good friends *Gob* and have gone across Canada and back, also playing shows here and there in the US. So far, the guys have released one great full length album going by the name of *The Last of the Daydreams*. I wonder how they will top it. Most people will agree, who have seen them live, that their set just blew them away. I've also had the pleasure to talk to John and Joe from the band, and they're really cool as well. Down to earth, nice, and not stuck up like some people who play in a band.

Anyway, the bottom line is that I think these guys are really great and I'm stressing the fact that you should go check em out if you havent' already. Maybe you won't like them, but chances are, you will, and it won't be anyone's loss except your own if you don't! :) Ah well, I guess that's it for now.
