| 1 cup plain flour | |
| 1 cup self raising flour | |
| 125g butter | |
| 1 1/2 cups brown sugar | |
| 1 cup milk | |
| 1 teaspoon bicarb soda | |
| 1 egg | |
| 1 teaspoon nutmeg | |
1/2 cup of chopped walnuts (or pecans) |
| Rub butter into flour, and then add sugar. | |
| Divide the mixture into two | |
| Press half the mixture into base of square lamington tin. The back of a spoon will be helpful | |
| To the other half, add milk, soda, egg and nutmeg. | |
| Mix together and pour over the base. | |
| Sprinkle nuts on top | |
| Bake at 180 deg C for 30 - 40 minutes. |
