The Yost Building
149 Main Street
J.E. Yost bought the building and property from Hibbard Williamson in 1895. One of the earliest commercial structures in the downtown, it was built in 1890 and is Commercial Vernacular in style. Yost was a prominent businessman in Pikeville. It is two story with a brick and stone facade. The pilasters in the second story divide the facade into three bays. The building appears on the 1910 Sandborn Insurance Map as a general store and on subsequent maps as a hardware store.
