Patterns

Instructions:

Skill Level: beginner
Time: less than 3 hours each

General

Print and cut out patterns. Use patterns to cut materials as indicated. Sew with right sides together using 1⁄4” seams unless otherwise indicated. Leave areas open as indicated on patterns.

Bunny

Sew body pieces together. Make slit in one side of belly as shown on pattern. Clip curves; turn body right side out through slit.

Stuff head and paws with fiberfill, stopping at dashed lines on pattern. Stuff remainder of body with pellets. Glue back of chest piece over slit in front of belly. (Note: Be sure edges are glued securely or pellets will fall out.)

Using upholstery thread, insert needle into back of neck and out eye hole. Place bead on needle and stitch back through to neck, pulling tightly to indent eye. Repeat for remaining eye; knot and clip thread at back of neck.

Stitch around edges of muzzle and nose circles. Pull threads tightly to gather; knot and clip ends. Use pattern as guide to glue circles to face. For whiskers, double thread and stitch through muzzle; knot and leave 2” of thread hanging. Repeat on other side.

Sew one ear and one reverse together. Clip curves and turn right side out. Sew a gathering stitch around open edge; pull tightly and knot. Glue or stitch to head as shown on pattern. Repeat for remaining ear.

Use pinking shears to cut around fabric length. Fold in half width-wise; tie bow around neck.

Chick

Sew body pieces together. Clip curves and turn right side out. Stuff body with fiberfill; fill tummy area with pellets and stitch closed.

In same way as bunny, sew eyes to face. Sew beak together with 1⁄8” seams. Turn right side out and stuff with fiberfill. Using pattern as guide, glue edges of beak to face.

Sew one wing and one reverse together. Cut a slit through underside of each wing. Clip curves and turn wings right side out. Glue slit side of wings to body, with top edges 11⁄4” apart.

Use a 1⁄8” seam to sew feet together. Clip curves and turn right side out. Sew opening closed. Glue feet, angled outward, to bottom of body 1⁄4” apart.

Loosely roll Lilac strip into a 3⁄4” square to make flower. To form petals, stitch through center of square, into center of one side of square, then back into center. Continue stitching to form a “+”, pulling each section tightly. Glue flower to center of neck. Glue one leaf to each side of flower.

Duck

Sew bottom pieces together. Matching tail marks on pattern, sew top to bottom pieces. Clip curves and turn body right side out through opening on bottom. Stuff body with fiberfill and bottom with pellets. Stitch opening closed.

For head, sew pieces together. Clip curves and turn head right side out. Stuff firmly with fiberfill. Stitch around opening; pull tightly to gather, knot and clip threads. In same way as bunny, sew eyes to face.

For each foot and wing, sew one piece and one reverse together. Cut a slit through top of each foot and underside of each wing. Clip curves and turn all pieces right side out. With slits facing up and toes angled out, glue feet 1⁄2” apart to bottom of body. With slits facing body, glue wings to body with tops 13⁄4” apart.

Sew beak pieces together with 1⁄8” seams. Clip curves and turn right side out. Stuff with fiberfill. Glue open edge closed and glue to head.

Glue head, tilted slightly upward, to front of body on seam.

Cut fabric with pinking shears. Tie bow around neck.
