Draw onto the construction paper. Add photos and stickers if desired. Write any message, such as "Happy Mother's Day!" Personalize it with the child's wish for the parent or grandparent. Date it. Place the artwork carefully on the sticky side of clear plastic covering. Place another sheet of clear plastic covering over the other side of the artwork. Smooth out any wrinkles, and cut off the excess, leaving a narrow edge of plastic. This makes the placemat somewhat wipeable and durable.
