In a double boiler or microwave, melt the butterscotch chips. Remove from heat and stir in the peanuts. Place the chow mein noodles in a large bowl and pour the butterscotch/peanut mixture over the top. Stir well. Drop mixture on wax paper using a teaspoon. Cool.
