Star Wars Technology, Starships... The society of the known galaxy depends on starships for travel between the millions of worlds and systems in the galaxy. Travel between the stars requires a "hyperdrive", while travel between planets in the same star system requiresa "sublight" drive.
Hyperdrive: This miraculos technology, which predates the republic, allows for the formation o a galactic civilization. Hyperdrives allow starships to travel between star systems, sometimes in a matter of hours. Ships without hyperdrives move at "sublight" speeds and would take years to reach the nearest star systems outside it's own... Sublight Drives: Sublight Drives are use to propell a starship within a star system, and to break from the gravitational pull of a planet to reach a safe distance to initiate a Star Jump. |

Star Wars Technology, Communications... HoloNet: The HoloNet was built during the height of the Republic...It provides instantainious communication across the galaxy in real-time holographic images. The HoloNet relied upon a vast network of deep space transceiver satellites that were distributed through hyperspace. The President of the Republic could address any world linked to the HoloNet no matter how remote...
Hypertransceivers: Another form of institanious communication that also relies on a network of deep space satillites in hyperspace... Many starships use hypertransceivers to communicate when traveling through deep space or hyperspace. Subspace Transceivers: Subspace transceivers allow for communications between several light years, but does not reach across the galaxy...Many local broadcast networks and colonies use subspace transceivers to communicate with one another in a close proximity of light years. Comms, Intercoms, and Comlinks: These devices allow for real-time communications within a very short range, usually no more than a few thousand kilometers. |
Droids... Droids are intelligent, mobile automations used throughout the galaxy. There are a amazing varity of droids used, from specialized fuctions to labour units. The machines are used foe\r any number of fields, including military, scientific, protocol, communication, and engineering. Droids are treated as property and some harour a deep distrust for the machines... |

Medicine and Cyborging... Medical technology in the galaxy is quite sophisticated...while advanced medicines can cure deadly diseases, and bacta tanks can heal severe injuries and allow individuals to completly recover from them, Cyborg limb replacements can be used to replace severed or lost limbs, and some cyborg units allow users to interface with droids, computers, and communications and allow inhanced physical abilities, and in extreme cases, allow individuals to live with injuries that would otherwise kill them. |
