"Jesus Christ . . .
Are you the son of God?
I want to know,
If I still believe."
-I'm Dying, VAST

Okay, to start off, I would have no problem whatsoever with the christian religion if they accepted other religions. To denounce others becuase they are not like you, do not think like you, is inhuman in itself. Unable to cope with the fact that men (and women) were created differently, they have killed millions. Christians, catholics, protestants, I'm sorry to lump you all together, but your beliefs are very similar. Call me ignorant if you'd like, but how can one so ignorant accept that you will believe what you'd like? In my religion, all have an equal chance to reach the Upper Realm or the Void, no matter what their beliefs. Yet you still damn me, even when I extend open arms to you. Why?

In your quest for dominance, you've killed over and over again. We'll start with the Crusades. The pope announced that the Holy Land should belong to you, so you set out to kill those that occupied it. Though unsuccessful many times, you still tried to invade, bringing the ruin of so countless lives. So many lives wasted, and only so that you could say that you were the strongest religion in the world. That you had a right to control the area in which holy relics lied, not once realizing that perhaps all the bloodshed could have been avoided if you could only live in peace with the "heathen muslims." Instead, families were broken up, children grew up without fathers. And still the Holy Land was not captured.

The Inquisition. Well, that was a bit of fun on your part no? You didn't just stop with those of other religions, but continued on to kill all those you thought impure, claiming that they were "possessed by the devil." You claimed witches and pagans dealt with the devil, not knowing that many pagans worship some sort of nature God or Godess. Once again, you broke your own rule of "Thou shalt not kill." People died, not even reaching their full potential. Who knows what great minds were killed, what paintings were left unpainted, what cities were left unbuilt, what inventions were never made. To purify man. Purity, How could they who killed in the name of their God know even minimally what purity is? Sorry to say, murder is far from pure and holy to me.

Do I believe in Jesus? Yes, very much so. He is in fact one of my patron Gods. To me, He is the God of Virtue. Untouched by sin, He was brought low by men who were unable to accept the loss of religious power while He was mortal. After He died, He ascended to Godhood. And with modern society as callous, immoral, and cruel as it is now, He weeps above us, grieved over our loss of virtue. Truly it is a sad world.

In conclusion, I do not blame the Christian religion for its followers. In its original teachings, it could have been great, but after damning half the population, it looks very unjust in my eyes. Some Christians, however, are accpeting of other's views, and I'm very happy that they choose not to be ignorant, and I think all the better of them for that. But those that damn me, I see you as equal in depravity to those Christians who committed the atrocities listed above. Just try to live and let live, ok? Give people a chance. There are many good people who are not Christians after all.
