Touma says: "Ryo's our leader... or at least, that's what he
keeps telling us... Seriously, though, Ryo was the first of us all to become a Samurai
Trooper, and he's shown time and time again that he's got exactly what it takes to be
in charge of this little group. He's a bit short-tempered (I guess you could call him a
hot-head), and sometimes he gets fed up with the way people are behaving, but for the
most part he's a perfect warrior. He's brave, determined, compassionate,
and as stubborn as a mule -if something isn't working, he'll just keep trying until it
does! He's also pretty good-natured, generally, although I think he takes far too much
responsibility for other people. On more than one occasion, I've caught him blaming himself
for other people's mistakes and misfortunes, and he has been known to sink into deep depressions
when things are going badly. Ryo attends Ha'na High with the rest of us, but he doesn't live in
Tokyo. His father is a professional wildlife photographer, and the two live out in a small cabin
in the woods a few miles away from the city. His father isn't around too often, so
Ryo's usual companion is a giant Siberian tiger named Byakuen. I wouldn't say that Ryo
owns Byakuen... it's more like the other way around. Those two almost seem able to
communicate on a spiritual level, and they're the closest friends I've ever seen. Sometimes,
Byakuen will even let Ryo ride him!"

Ryo's armour of Rekka gains its strength
from the element of fire, allowing him to rest unharmed in the heart of an active volcano!
Ryo's armour can emit incredible heat -especially when he's angry- powerful enough to turn a city
block into an oven! In addition, he can heal himself and recover from attacks faster if he is
near a fire of some kind. It should also be noted that the Rekka armour does very poorly
when exposed to water, almost short-circuiting. Ryo no Rekka's main weapons while wearing his
yoroi are the Rekka Ken, a pair of katana swords that he tends to use in unison.

Ryo is the Samurai Trooper of virtue, and the single most
skilled warrior of the entire group. In addition to Rekka, Ryo possesses the ability to merge his yoroi
with those of his teammates, forming a suit of armour called the Kikouten. This armour has the power
to destroy the entire Solar System in a single attack!
