Title: Leaving Everyone
Author: Amy
Email: TheSkulls56745@aol.com
Rating: PG, maybe PG13
Category: Mostly J/H
Disclaimer: I don't own any of these characters, the WB does. I wish
I did own Hammie, and maybe Jake!
Summary: Scout finds out the truth.
Dedication: To all my fellow Jahammers, Munchies, & Jaklusters!
Author's Note: There might be some typos, I just recovered from
crying at "Escape." Oh, and this is the 2nd in the trilogy I decided
to create after someone said I should create a sequel to "Almost
Everyone." One story remains after this.
Feedback: Yes! I'd appreciate any. :)
It was the last week of summer session at Rawley Academy. Jake Pratt
sat at her laptop looking at other schools to transfer to for the
fall. Even though this had been one of the best summers of her life,
she knew it couldn't last. She loved Hamilton Fleming, her boyfriend,
but she was tired of putting on this charade for everyone. Two other
people knew too, her friends Bella Banks and Will Krudski. She though
of all the fun and troubles there had been. Plus, she didn't want to
hurt Hamilton anymore.
"Hey," Hamilton greeted her when he entered her room, "Whatcha doin'?"
Jake turned around to look at her boyfriend, and tears began to cloud
her view. "I'm leaving next week. Going to another school in the
fall."
Shocked, Hamilton asked, "Why?"
"I'm sick of putting on this charade. And you, I don't want them to
hurt you anymore."
Jake turned back to the screen and began typing furiously to cover
her misery.
Then came a THUD!, for Hamilton had fallen to the floor and was now
sitting, dazed.
"And I'm telling everyone I'm a girl, so you'll be safe."
Hamilton stared blankly at his girlfriend sitting with her back
turned. He didn't know what to think. All of a sudden his world had
collapsed. "Don't worry about me. I'll be okay. Please, don't go!" he
wailed frantically.
"I have to."

Later that week, after finals were over; Jake, Hamilton, Bella,
Scout, and Will were sitting in a booth at the diner. Everyone was
discussing their plans for the fall, everyone except Jake. She had
remained oddly silent.
"So Jake, which courses are you taking in the fall?" asked Scout. He
was worried, since his friend was usually talkative.
Jake stammered, "Uh, I am, um..."
"Well Jake, aren't you going to tell them what you told me?"
questioned Hamilton.
Bella looked over at her friend's eyes, and saw the hurt and sadness
in them. Her heart went out to Jake.
"I'm leaving Rawley," Jake heard herself saying a few seconds
later, "I was going to tell the whole school tomorrow, but I might as
well tell you now Scout." She paused, then went on, "I'm a girl. I
came to get my mother's attention. But I'm tired of this now so I'm
transferring."
Now it was Scout's turned to look bewildered. "You're a what?"
"She's a girl," said Bella, "Me and Will figured it out after she
told Hamilton."
"Wait, so you two," Scout nodded at Jake and Hamilton, "aren't gay?"
"No." Now it was Hamilton's turn to respond.
"Oh."
"Well goodbye guys," Jake ended the conversation with slight waves at
Bella, Scout, and Will. "Maybe we'll meet again someday."
Bella rushed up to give her friend a hug. "I'll call you from my new
school when I get there," she whispered to Jake.

The next day, Jake went to see Dean Fleming. She dressed as a girl,
in a light blue fitted tank and flared black pants. She walked into
the office, and the dean's eyebrows flew up. She looked a lot like
Jake Pratt.
"Good morning, Mr.Fleming. I'm Jaqueline Pratt, also known as Jake
Pratt. I came here originally, masquerading as a guy to get my
mother's attention. Unforteanately, it didn't work. Even though, I'm
transferring shools. I just wanted to let you know so you wouldn't
ever wonder if your son was gay. Also, you may tell the rest of the
student body."
After finishing, she walked back to her dorm. She carried her bags to
Hamilton's door and knocked. He answered, and let her in.
"Goodbye," she whispered.
He stepped forward and wrapped his arms around her, kissing the top
of her head. "Don't go," he murmured.
Jake lifted her head and slowly brushed her lips against his for the
last time. She savored the feeling of his arms around her and his
body against hers before stepping out of his embrace.
"I love you Hamilton."
She picked up her bags and quickly exited so he wouldn't see the
tears brimming in her eyes. Jake retrieved her bike, and looked up at
Rawley Academy for Boys for the last time. Hopping on the bike, she
sped off into tomorrow.
