Endorsed by 1998-99 NBA scoring leader, Alan Iverson, NBA 2K has shown once again that Sega Sports and Visual Concepts have whipped up another gem of a sports title! It's simply amazing what they have done this past year. More and more Sega is showing they may not nead EA Sports anyway, since EA Sports is not on Sega's developer list...or whatever. I myself am a huge EA fan, yet with my NFL 2K, and NBA 2K, I think I am all set with Visual Concepts and Sega Sports! I just hope they keep up the trend! Well, the game's interface is simply a brilliant blend of arcade and simulation, which really bakes my cake. The gameplay is, like NFL 2K: as good as its graphics, and it really shows! On the run play calling, icon passing, alley-oops, over 100 dunks, lay-ups, 4-player support, VMU messages, all the real players, a new free throw system, over 1,300 motion captured moves, adrenaline rushing crowd effects, create a player mode, and more! But of course like NFL 2K, this one is nothing close to perfection. Its flaws are pretty minor, but they keep this game from perfection. The major flaw is that your guard will sometimes stand out of bounds while your trying to set up a play! This doesn't always happen, but it can be very annoying. Another pretty major flaw is that sometimes your players will act absolutely stupid while your trying to convert an alley-oop. They will sometimes, not always, just run away from the ball, after they have called for the damn pass! This is also annoying, but it really doesn't happen too often and sometimes it won't even happen during the whole game! So please don't be turned off by these simple flaws, for this is my pick for the sports game of the millenium! |
