The
Oxfam program is based in four districts supported by a head office in Dili. The
program is in a transitional phase seeking to strengthen the capacity of East
Timorese organisations and groups to manage and implement community based
environmental health projects; human rights; and women’s empowerment projects.
Oxfam
Australia is seeking District Team Leaders for the Environmental Health Program
in East Timor that focuses on health promotion, water supply and sanitation.
Key
Requirements:
·
Minimum
2 years experience of working in community based health promotion programmes.
·
Experience
in environmental health programmes is an advantage.
·
Experience
in programme management, preferably with an INGO.
·
Experience
in leading, managing and supporting multi disciplinary and multi cultural teams.
·
Relevant
qualifications in public health and skills in health promotion, sanitation and
vector control activities.
·
Well
developed training, facilitation and community consultation skills.
·
Ability
to work in the Tetum or Bahasa Indonesian languages or willingness to learn.
·
A
high level of organisational, negotiation and oral and written communication
skills.
·
Self
motivated with an ability to show initiative.
·
Team
player
·
Flexibility,
ability to cope with transition between cultures and work under pressure.
Salary
A$40,000 per annum (plus accomm, per diem, insurance). These are unaccompanied
