Centre for Poverty Analysis

The “Centre for Poverty Analysis” (CEPA) is a professional service provider promoting a better understanding of poverty related issues in Sri Lanka. Based on applied empirical research, we offer advisory and training services to organizations and professionals working towards the reduction of poverty. We emphasize a qualitative, creative and interactive approach to seek practical solutions to the multidimensional problem of poverty.

CEPA seeks to fill the top management position for Executive Director. The candidates for the  position is expected to possess several of the following qualifications:

Executive Director

Degree in Social Sciences from a recognized university, preferably Ph.D.

At least 10 years professional experience in fields relevant for the programme and management of CEPA

Strong academic record in applied research and in handling complex research projects

Proven record in policy dialogue and advice

Good leadership skills combined with a participatory management style

Excellent writing and presentation skills

Proficiency in English and at least one of the national languages (Sinhala, Tamil)

 

CEPA offers a fixed term appointment of initially 2 years (renewable up to 6 years) and a competitive, performance related salary in SL Rupees. Duty station is Colombo. Successful candidates have to be prepared to travel within Sri Lanka and abroad and are expected to assume duties during the third Quarter 2001.
