Commonwealth Human Rights Initiative

The Commonwealth Human Rights Initiative (CHRI) is an independent international non-profit NGO situated in New Delhi. CHRI has been mandated to promote the practical realisation of human rights in the Commonwealth.

Human rights education and advocacy for policy change lie at the core of its activities. CHRI advocates for a participatory and consultative approach to law making as well as constitutional reform.

CHRI is looking for self-motivated Researchers (2 positions) for its Constitutionalism Programme.

Qualification:

The candidate must possess at least an M.Phil degree in Political Science and/or an LL.M have a comprehensive understanding of the Indian Constitution be able to translate texts from the English to any one of the following languages Bangla, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Oriya, Tamil, Telugu. Be computer and internet literate. possess editorial skills

Desirable:

Ph.D in Political Science familiarity with human rights work experience of working with human rights/grass root level NGOs work experience with the media commitment to social justice

Work Profile:

The Research Assistants would be required to assist in preparing and translating documents for public education. They might be required to travel within India to conduct workshops and conferences as and when necessary. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience, and will not be a limiting factor for the right candidate.
