The Futures Group International

The Futures Group International is a management, marketing and strategic planning organization that helps clients make critical decisions in the presence of future uncertainty.  Futures is committed to enhancing sustainable development through the transfer of technologies to global experts and institutions and through the creation of appropriate project designs.  Areas of program concentration include child survival, family planning, reproductive health, population policy, nutrition, and prevention of HIV/AIDS and sexually transmitted infections (STIs).

Since its founding in 1971, Futures has worked in over 50 developing countries for more than 600 clients, including the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), the African Development Bank, the Asian Development Bank, the World Bank, the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), UNICEF, Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau (KfW), and the World Health Organization (WHO).

POLICY Project

Technical Writer

The POLICY Project works to create a supportive policy environment for family planning and reproductive health programs. The project addresses the full range of policies that support the expansion of family planning and other reproductive health services.

The POLICY Project is seeking a Technical Writer to work in the Washington DC, office of The Futures Group International.

Responsibilities:
· Writing and editing reports on a variety of FP/RH/AIDS issues
·
Preparing occasional papers, policy briefs, brochures, abstracts of technical documents, success stories, case studies
· Rewriting, condensing, and editing technical documents
· Developing content for project internet site

Characteristics of a Strong Applicant:
· BA/MA in public health or related field, journalism
· Knowledge of international FP/RH/AIDS issues
· Proven ability to produce high quality written and edited documents
· Interest in international development (reproductive health, HIV/AIDS, human rights, etc.)
