Director (US Operations)

International Institute of Rural Reconstruction (IIRR)

The International Institute of Rural Reconstruction (IIRR), a US PVO committed to improving the lives of rural poor through participatory approaches, seeks a Director of its US Office in New York. 

Responsibilities: Management and oversight of all aspects of U.S. Office operations, with a focus on fundraising and donor relations (at least 75% of the time), but including office management and administration, and board and corporate relations (the remaining 25%). Has primary responsibility, in consultation with senior management, for all U.S.-based fundraising efforts of the Institute, including formulation and implementation of fundraising strategies and plans, identification and pursuit of funding opportunities, and liaison work with private and corporate foundations, individual donors, IIRR Trustees, and other development partners. Has supervisory responsibility for all U.S. Office administrative and support staff. Serves as a member of the global management team, and represents the Institute in U.S.-based fora . 

Requirements: Bachelor's, preferably post-graduate, degree in any related discipline; at least 8 years work experience in fundraising for non-profit organizations and programs, preferably international development agencies; at least 3 years management experience in an international development organization; and excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills.
