Programme Officer

LEAD

LEAD (Leadership for Environment and Development) is a program of capacity building for selected future leaders whose actions will contribute to the decisions made about environment and development issues in most parts of the world. LEAD Associates are drawn from five sectors of society: academia, business, government, media, and NGOs.

They are between the ages of 30 and 40 and are fully employed in their organizations while they undertake the two-year training program. There are presently 14 LEAD Member Programs: Brazil, Canada, China, the Commonwealth of Independent States, Europe, Francophone Africa, India, Indonesia, Japan, Mexico, Nigeria, Pakistan Southern Africa and the United States. The LEAD International Secretariat, based in London, UK, requires a Program Officer to work in close collaboration with the Director of International Training and Associate Programs. Qualifications include:

* demonstrated experience in curriculum design and delivery of adult training;

* strong background in environment and development issues;

* demonstrated experience running and facilitating workshops;

* international work experience, ideally in a developing country;

* strong cross-cultural communication skills;

* ability to travel regularly; and

* strong English language proficiency.

This is a full-time contract position with an excellent benefits package. Salary range is 33,000 to 38,000 pounds, commensurate with experience.
