Regional Policy Advocacy Officer
Oxfam GB
Based in Oxford with frequent travel
£19,150-£24,700 gross p.a.
Contract: 2 years
As part of the Eastern Europe/Former Soviet Union/Russia/Middle East Regional Team, your key responsibilities will include: analysis and recommendations for advocacy action; forming and maintaining relations with key actors for direct advocacy action; carrying out lobbying work and assisting with press work as required; making a contribution to programme strategy; working with other organisations to develop common analysis and policy recommendations; ensuring learning is reflected in programme direction and the need for skill development is identified.
You will have five years' work experience of a similar nature; an understanding of the Region; specialist knowledge of and proven interest in specific aspects of Oxfam's aims e.g. livelihoods, health and education, protection/conflict, accountability or diversity; proven analytical skills, with ability in research methods and practices, and an ability to think strategically; plus excellent communication skills and an ability to write clearly and precisely.
