Programme Officers for PRAXIS
Praxis is a not-for-profit, autonomous, development support organization (set up by ActionAid India in 1997) seeking to facilitate the promotion of participatory practices in human development initiatives in an integral manner. In the relatively short period since its inception, it has come to be recognized as an international resource agency at the forefront of participatory practices.
Praxis visualizes a world without poverty in which every woman and man has the right to participate in decision-making process and to a life with dignity and choices. Its mission is to strive for democratization of development processes and institutions to ensure that the voices of poor women, men, girls and boys are heard and acted upon.
Praxis aims at popularising participatory approaches in all spheres of development work. It believes that ‘participation’ is not merely a rhetoric but a pragmatic strategy to resolve complexities in any thematic area of development action. It believes in the ability of the poor people to analysis, plan and act towards their own development and for eradicating poverty. Praxis strives to facilitate the adoption and pursuit of participatory approaches to development by government, NGOs, donors and all other civil society actors to realise its vision of poverty eradication.
Praxis is looking for Programme Officers to reinforce its core team of Development Professionals.
Location: New Delhi
Educational Qualifications: Post Graduate/PG Diploma in Social Sciences from institutes of repute.
Experience: 2 to 5 years of development experience especially field based.
Job Profile: Participatory Research, Trainings, Networking and Information Dissemination.
Prior experience in using participatory methodologies will be an added advantage. The job involves traveling to some of the remotest parts of the country. Praxis is an equal opportunity employer.
