Marine Research Specialist I (Global Programs)

Position is limited to 9/30/01 with extension contingent on funding.

Department: Coastal Resources Center

Duties and Responsibilities:

As part of the Coastal Resources Center's (CRC) Global Programs team, assist PI's, directors, coastal management and technical staff in support of a major USAID-funded research program.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree required. The following are required: Prior work experience with resource management, planning or community outreach; experience in researching and developing complex programmatic documents and reports; experience in conducting literature and citation searches and other informational requests to support research efforts, using resources such as the library, Iternet, interviews and surveys; experience in compiling and analyzing statistical data; computer skills, including experience in the preparation of graphics and in data management; excellent writing skills; ability to organize and synthesize information quickly and efficiently; ability to communicate clearly and effectively with diverse, cross-cultural international populations; demonstrated organizational skills and the ability to manage projects, set priorities and achieve deadlines with efficiency and accuracy. The following are preferred: Experience working in a culturally diverse international environment; government or social services employment experience; previous scientific grant writing experience.
