Director
RUGMARK UK
Rugmark UK is seeking a Director to be
responsible for the establishment of its operations in the UK. The post will
initially be based at the offices of Anti-Slavery International at the address
below.
Rugmark UK is a recently registered company
whose purpose is to promote the Rugmark concept to the carpet trade and the
general public in the UK and to link this to the work of the other Rugmark
organisations around the world.

JOB DESCRIPTION
TITLE: Director
SALARY: Negotiable up to £25,000/a pro rata for 4 day week
RESPONSIBLE TO: Rugmark UK Board
START DATE: As soon as possible (no later than August 2001)
An exciting opportunity to launch a new national organisation in the field of child labour. Rugmark UK is a registered company, dedicated to eliminating illegal child labour in the carpet industry in south Asia. The candidate will need to be a dynamic self-starter, able to deal at high levels with industry and government. Initial funding has been secured for six months and the Director will be responsible for negotiating further funding. The salary offered is based on Rugmark's current resources, but will be reviewed after six months and may increase according to the candidate's success.
Aims of Job
To
establish Rugmark UK and to promote the use of the Rugmark label in the UK,
working directly with importers and retailers and via consumer awareness
campaigns. To liaise with other Rugmark offices around the world through Rugmark
International, to achieve worldwide understanding and support for the Rugmark
and to ensure its continuity.
Organise events to expand recognition and understanding of Rugmark.
