Timor Aid, the largest and most reputable East Timorese development aid NGO, active in education and capacity building, micro-finance, and health care, women's development as well as humanitarian assistance. Timor Aid employs a staff of nearly 400 and has an annual budget of approximately $2.5M. One year contract (renewable).

Responsibilities: Program development (vision, goals, strategic plan, outputs, priority setting); overall program coordination; assessment and reporting; identification and cultivation of program resources; assistance with donor relations and communication; management of the consulting services program; quality management; implementation of specific project management information systems; implementation of training for East Timorese counterparts.

Requirements:

1) A degree in a related area and/or a combination of education and field work experience equivalent to five years;

2) Management experience in a developing country;

3) Strong proposal-writing and financial management skills;

4) Organizational development experience and abilities;

5) Linguistic skills and cultural affinity with East Timor;

6) Ability to work independently and be self motivated;

8) Computer literate (Windows 95 & 98);

9) Management style that allows local staff to develop skills and talents; and

10) Experience in adult and non-formal education, also highly desirable.
