Requires : Programme Specialists in different fields Nagarika Seva Trust (NST) is a voluntary organisation involved in rural development activities since 1976. Based in Guruvayankere (56 Kilometres from Mangalore on the Mangalore-Chikmagalur Highway). NST works in the districts of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi on various environmental issues however the major component consisting of rural development activities is in Belthangady Taluka. It now proposes to spread similar activities to other taluks of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts, namely Sullia, Puttur, Bantwal, Karkala, Kundapur, Udupi and Mangalore Rural Talukas. The proposal is to extend the activities to these talukas gradually on the basis of the experience gained in Belthangady Taluka. To do so NST would require Programme Specialists who would be responsible for: - 1.Planning and Formulation of the Taluk Programmes 2.Source funding both Indian and Foreign 3.Monitoring and evaluating the implementation of the Programme 4.Writing Reports The field level staff and the target group organisations would do the actual implementation of the programmes in each of the talukas. The Programme Specialists needed are needed to work for: - 1.Environment, 2.Sustainable Agriculture, 3.Biodiversity, 4.Women, 5.Daliths and Tribals 6.Health, 7.Self-help Groups, 8.Mahiti Kendra / Information Centre, 9.Training. The Programme Specialists will have to reside in Belthangady taluk or in any of the other talukas if necessary. The salary for the posts will be : Rs 5000 +. However salary will be determined only after taking into account the candidates : experience, ability etc. Preference will be given to women and candidates with work experience in similar issues. Candidates with the following skills will be preferred: - 1.Knowledge of the English and Kannada Languages. 2.Writing and communication abilities. 3.Basic Computer knowledge. 4.Driving especially two wheelers.
