Nominations and applications are invited from senior executives, academicians, scholars and heads of education, training or research institutions to take-over the leadership of this premier organisation. EDI is a national leader and is internationally active as a centre of excellence for training in human resource development. It is closely linked with a vast network of entrepreneurship and SME training organisations in India and the developing world.

Backed by all-India financial institutions(IDBI, ICICI, IFCI, SBI) and Government of Gujarat and housing the prestigious Inter-Regional Centre funded by UNIDO and Government of India, the Institute has achieved financial self-sufficiency with its need-based programmes for entrepreneurs, intrapreneurs and capacity building of ED institutions and support agencies. its recent major educational initiative is the unique one year Post-Graduate Diploma in Business Entrepreneurship and Management with specialisations in New Enterprise Creation, Family Business Management and NGO Management.

Opportunities :
The New Director will succeed the founder Director, and have opportunities to consolidate and expand educational and training programmes, increase focus on research in the unexplored areas of entrepreneurship; develop new tools of interventions of new enterprise creation and SME growth and expand international markets for EDI programmes.

Challenges :
He/She will be leading a team of highly motivated, competent and cohesive faculty and support staff working in a corporate culture; must maintain high level of credibility and image with sponsors, network institutions and policy makers; sustain its financial self-sufficiency and enhance its resource base for future growth.

Profile :
The aspirant therefore, must be academically sound with at least 20 years of experience at a credible senior, leadership position in industry/corporate sector; industrial development, financial or consultancy organisation; university or institution of higher learning; comfortable with executive as well as financial responsibilities and sensitive to needs, behaviour and expectations of professional and academic staff. Age preferably below 50 years. An understanding of facilitating and hindering factors in industrial development in general and SME sector in particular is desirable.
