Oxfam GB's programme in South Asia aims to relieve poverty and suffering through an integrated approach to development, humanitarian and advocacy work, with a strong focus on addressing the particularly disadvantaged position of women and of socially excluded communities. Two senior posts are required in the region. All require strong management skills, a good grasp of development / humanitarian issues in the South Asia context, good representational abilities and demonstrated commitment to addressing gender and diversity issues.

Regional Programme Representative, India
Oxfam GB in India requires a highly experienced manager for the post of Programme Representative, to manage and give leadership to Oxfam's programme in India and to lead on regional work to give socially excluded communities a greater say in their lives. Key responsibilities will include : completing the implementation of a process of organizational change; aligning the work of Oxfam in India with programme priorities for the South Asia region;' leading the development or regional programmes addressing issues of social exclusion; ensuring that the India programme is of high quality and achieving maximum impact through effective mechanisms for monitoring, evaluation and impact assessment; representing Oxfam in India to government agencies, donors and other key stakeholders and ensuring the highest standards of human resource and financial management.

River Basin Programme Representative
Oxfam GB has established a single Ganges-Brahmputra River Basin Program (RBP) with the aim of reducing the vulnerability of poor communities living within the flood basin. The programme combines livelihoods work, disaster preparedness and response in times of several flooding and has a strong advocacy focus. A Programme Representative is required to take overall management responsibility for the programme; to manage Oxfam's response to humanitarian emergencies in the programme area; to develop a strong advocacy focus for the programme and to ensure effective development and training of staff.

Oxfam offers a 3 year contract with an attractive salary package plus additional benefits and accompanied status. The position will be based in Dhaka. (There is some possibility of the post moving to Calcutta in future in which case an Indian Salary package would apply).Please quote the following reference number if you have applied for this position : Ref.
