Consultants (short and long-term)

The Services Group In

The Services Group In. (TSG), a leading international consulting firm specializing in trade, investment, and WTO compliance, is seeking consultants for short and long-term positions to propose on an Asian Development Bank funded WTO project in China. In particular, TSG is seeking for experts specialized in WTO rules relating to legislation preparation in the following four areas:

(i)     Foreign trade of goods and technology: (a) modification of PRC Foreign Trade Law, (b) a new regulation on import and export of goods, (c) a new regulation on import and export of technology, (d) a new regulation on commodity inspection, and (e) new regulation on rules of origin;

(ii)    Transnational construction projects, labor cooperation and e-commerce: (a) a new regulation on transnational construction projects, (b) a new regulation on transnational labor cooperation, and (c) research on legal issues related to electronic commerce;

(iii)   Transnational investment: (a) a new regulation on transnational mergers and acquisitions and a new regulation on transnational franchising; and

(iv)    Anti-dumping and subsidy related issues: (a) a new regulation on anti-dumping, subsidy and countervailing, and safeguard measures and (b) implementing rules or guidelines of the above mentioned regulation.

Consultant qualifications: Experience in Asia, especially in China is a plus.  Chinese language skills are not required but preferred. Ideal
candidates will have at least 8 to 10 years of international experience in one of the above-mentioned technical areas. The assignments will be up to 8 months in duration starting October 2001.
