Nurse Tutors for Mozambique

In collaboration with UNFPA, UNDP is undertaking a project to strengthen human resource development as part of an integrated national programme. In this context, UNV is seeking candidates to fill eight posts. The incumbents are expected to:
  • Advise the Director of the MCHC(Mother/Child Health Care) & RH (Reproductive Health) course on the organisation of curiculum, planning and implementation of the courses
  • Plan, prepare and teach the MCHC & RH courses using modern teaching methologies in order to induce trainee participation
  • Apply the evaluation tools/techniques outlined by the Ministry of Health in the General Regulations for the Evaluation of Training Institutions
  • Participate in other related pedagogical activities as necessary
  • Participate in the organisation and implementation of training programs for trainers of the MCHC & RH unit of the institute
  • Experience and Qualifications

     

  • Diploma in Nursing with specialisation in Obstetrics and Reproductive Health
  • Practical experience in Obstetrics
  • Experience of at least 3 years in teaching Mother/Child Health Care and Reproductive Health
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Tolerance and ability to adapt to difficult conditions
  • Good English language skills. Knowledge of Portuguese and/or Spanish would be an asset
  • Duty Station

    Health Science Institutes in Nampula, Inhambane, Beira, Quelimane and Maputo

     

    Conditions of service

    A 24-month assignment; volunteer living allownce (VLA) intended to cover basic needs including housing and utilities equivalent to US$ 1783 for single person; US$ 2076 for person with one dependant and US$ 2216 for person with two or more dependants; settling-in-grant; life, health and permanent disability insurance; return airfares; resettlement allowance of US$100 per month of satisfactory service.
