Senior Relief Administrators

Rapid Response Team KENYA

World Vision is a Christian organisation and one of the world’s leading aid agencies, working in nearly 100 countries and helping over 85 million people in their struggle against poverty, hunger and injustice.

World Vision International has two challenging opportunities for experienced top professionals to be regional Senior Relief Administrators as part of our Rapid Response Team (RRT).  We are looking for people with proven senior leadership and management experience, to be based in

(1) Africa, (2) the Middle East and Eastern Europe. 

Responsibilities

The successful candidates will provide regional team leadership to enhance World Vision's emergency preparedness and response to crisis situations world-wide.  These senior positions will be based in (1) Nairobi and (2) Vienna, and will require immediate deployment at outbreak of large scale emergencies within the two regions.  Temporary relocation at the outbreak is expected for up to three to four months or until a full-time person can be hired for that specific country.  In periods of non-crisis management, the RRT’s will be involved in disaster mitigation design, training and capacity building, facilitation and promotion of disaster mitigation models within the organisation.

Requirements

A minimum of five to ten years’ emergency relief and development experience is required with at least three years in a senior management position. Candidates must be flexible, results-oriented, mobile, have outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, with proven team leadership, diplomacy and negotiating skills.  Fluency in English and a good working knowledge of another relevant language is also required.   

Candidates must be fully in sympathy with World Vision’s Christian basis of faith and core values.
