System Of A Down - Toxicity (American)
My Rating: 6 of 5 Chromosomes I did not hear the new music until I went the the Pledge Of Allegiance Show in Denver, but I went
right home and downloaded some of it from a peer to peer share site, But I went and bought it as soon as it as soon as I had the money. This CD can be put like this simply. A work of sheer and masterful depth and
content, a 15 light year jump from their first awesome first CD. I will probibly have to buy this CD many times because I will wear it out. System of A Down is taking over the throne left vacant by RATM's breakup.
Politically conscious and challenging music, but unlike RATM some SOAD tunes are not all political and some are just downright party tunes. Serj has one of the most unique voices in music today, the deftness of his switches
from all out scream into the singing and even melodic voicing is staggering. John Dolmayan is awesome on the drums pounding out massive beats as well as the most awesome fills during the slower moments. Daron Malakian
is a monster on guitar churning out hacksaw riffs and delivering moody middle eastern moods and textures at other times. SOAD has shattered the sophmore curse in an instant classic CD that keeps you rocking, thinking and head
pounding or arms swaying to the music. Along with Slipknot, and Mudvayne (the other bands on the Pledge tour) SOAD is a band to keep your eyes on for awhile. If this is the quantum leap to the second Album from the
first they are going to jump off the map in the future. |
