The Assault Frigate was constucted during the time of the Rebellion. Its small numbers are due to the time and cost to refit it. Its starfighter hanger was stripped during the refit and its much space was lost, thus reducing the crew and troop capacity. It out-guns the Dreadnaught by 10 weapons and twenty docking fixtures have been fitted to the outside of the hull allowing starfighters to dock. However only a modified shuttle can be carried through hyperspace.
