The Belarus Crusier was one of the First warships to be produced by the New Republic. The Belarus is an imporvement over the Strike Cruiser and was rushed into production by the New Republic. The design was implemented by slashing several corners, essentially by reducing the single turbolaser emplacements, and agreeing on a single design with modular construction, however the Belarus does not possess the design comformity that the Strike has. Although cheaper to construct, it takes a standard refit to alter. It is more crew effecient than the Strike cruiser, and the broadsides are increased by 40%. The Belarus is deployed in line with lighter ships, covering forward and rear deployment, or part of a centre section of a stronger formations.
