The Defender class Star Destroyer is only 65% of the size of an Imperial Star Destroyer but can actually challenge an Imperial II with odds of winning. It's the most heavily armoured and shielded next to the Lusankya (a Super Star Destroyer). Its two wings of starfighters are mixed and often conatin Defender starfighters for dogfighting and K-Wing bombers for precision strikes. DSD's can also host a superiority fighter wing made up of long range E-Wings , or A-Wings or X-Wings. There are only ten DSD's in service and one more expected every year.
