The E-Wing was the first starfighter that had been completed entirely under New Republic command. It is a reliable fighter in combat, but is as prone to break down as the B-Wing. Its S-foils had been removed which has reduced the cost. According to its pilots it has performed well despite that its lasers are fed by synthetic tibanna gas. Most companies use natural spinning methods, but since the galactic economy was in shambles, synthetics seemed a cost efficient alternative. Replacing the artificially spun gas can take weeks so most are left as they are. The Type B model of the E-Wing solved this problem by increasing the power output of the lasers.
