The Mon Calamari Star Crusiers were originally desgined as space liners, converted into military use for the Alliance when Admiral Ackbar convinced his people to join the Alliance in its cause to fight the Empire. These vessels look more organic than technological but it is powerful enough to challenge an Imperial Star Destroyer.Built with various redundant systems and one of the mightiest shield networks around, these vessels are notoriously difficult to repair but they are extremely reliable in combat. Multiple back-up systems increase it odds in combat. For example, if one shield generator goes down they deactivate it and rechannel power through the remaining links.
