Pure warship, this is the latest development in Mon Calamari Star Cruisers. Protected with a sturdy system of shields, this vessel can take a lot of punishment. As well, it has twice the fire power of the other Star Cruisers. The MC90 is more standardized than its predessecors. Each individual ship is still a work of art, but the internal components are modified to encompass the many of the species of the New Republic. Also many of the displays have numerous wavelength settings so that crew members of different species can crew the ship. The MC90 has increased maneuveralbility and stronger shielding systems, in addition to many more weapon systems. This ship requires a larger power generator due to the increased power demand. The MC90 has a larger cargo space, enabling it to carry two full wings of starfighters (72 fighters). One of these such ships serves as Ackbar's new flagship-the Defiance. From this ship he commands New Republic fleets to victory.
