DGI DOSEmuI started using DOSEMU since I installed Linux. I took me some time but I finally configured it correctly. Now days I have DOSEmu 1.01, which I compiled myself (I lost my trust in using RPM). I use DrDOS 7.01 on DOSEmu (I don't want to use MS-DOS 7.10) and FreeDOS is not that good yet. I hope that in the future they will overcome the 512MByte bug. I hope also that they could use Fat32 drives. That would be the best. and of course the Network re-director.I joined the DOSEmu mailing list a few weeks ago, and I saw this message: ... I'm running the dos fromI also thought that LFN is good. But isn't it the DOS job to do LFN? There are some doses which provide LFN (DOS 7 and 7.10 do not provide LFN, the driver for LFN is loaded with the Windows GUI). There are some programs that give support for LFN under pure DOS. But not every-body knows where to find them, and they not come with DOSEmu distribution. I thought that this would be a good idea to have support for LFN. But instead of writing it into FreeDOS (as Bjorn Eriksson" <mdeans@algonet.se> mentioned) I wanted it to be part of DOSEmu. Just like the internal mouse driver, or the XMS driver. This should be done from the "BIOS" as part of the DOS. To see how I am planning of doing visit this link.
