MY XWINDOWS - LINUX SNAPSHOTS

GNOME SnapShots

g01.jpg (135,294 bytes) Here is a snapshot of GNOME running some games. Mines, FreeCel, Nibble, Mahjong. On the MenuBar (the thing in the top of the screen) I added a CDPlayer, a Luncher, Modem Lights, and a luncher to the application "xkill' (which I use to kill windows that don't want to use the close command).
g02.jpg (179,989 bytes) Here you can see GNORPM, the calculator,  GQView (an image viewer), and in the right side you can see the mounted disks on my system.

KDE Snapshots

KDE got to V2 recently. Here are the screen shots. Looks very nice.
kde2_1.png (116,229 bytes) Here you can see K Desktop Environment running XMMS (formally known as x11amp), A text editor (GNU public license loaded) and sound the mixer. Note That KDE supports many languages. Here you can see that some of the menus work in hebrew. Also note that in the lower in the screen you can see the mixer and the cdplayr docked into the panle. You just click them with the mouse and they are reay to run. If you insert a audio CD, the cd-player (wich is running in the panel) will automaticly play it (like auto-run for audio cd in Windows-9X)
kde2_2.png (288,690 bytes) Here you can see both Netscape for linux, and Konqueror the KDE file manager which can also be used a s web browser. I like Konqy but it needs to by shaped up a little bit more. Konqy also can use Netscape plug-ins, and can view many encodings (including Microsoft logical hebrew). You can also see here the Internet dialer (a front-end to pppd)

Emulators

k04.jpg (159,175 bytes) Here you can see Seti@Home client You can see also how WINE does the MS-dialogs. On the other side you can see DOSEmu, which is running a DrDOS 7.03 session, on which I run OpenSource DOS Navigator . DN (RIT Labs) is a Norton Commander Clone which uses TV for manipulating it's windows. I would be cool to port it to Linux. As background in my 4th desktop I use Win98 startup BMP (the installation one) because I think it's funny.
k02.jpg (148,323 bytes) This is one of my favorites, you can see here MS-Word 7 (Hebrew verion) trying to load, you can see that Wine tries to display the hebrew menus (unsuccessfully). You can see in the backgound also  the program welcome.exe and the terminal i used to lunch thease programs.

Games

doom.jpg (171,341 bytes) Here LxDoom is a gnome client now, running under GNome in a 640x480 window. It can run all the levels of the original Doom. I downloaded from DoomWorld the shareware wad, so I can't have all the levels... only the shareware ones...
tuxkart.png (171,341 bytes) This game is called tuxKart, and is a racing toy-card game for tux.
tuxkart.png (171,341 bytes) This is another OpenGL racing gaem, this time you are in a room with other "bikes" and when they move they leave a wall, you just need to avoid those walls. This game has really good graphics, it can be configured so everything has a shodow/illumination and everything get's relfected. This is how I configured it in this snapshot. (this game runs in full screen).
tuxkart.png (171,341 bytes) This is a shoot scroller. Looks very nice, and has good music. (runs in full screen)
tuxkart.png (171,341 bytes) I really like this game, it is a worm in a maze. Looks good. (runs in full screen, uses joystick).
