I will consider doing
commissioned works and have done many in the past. In the short time that
I've had my paintings available on the internet, I have completed several
paintings for people who live in California, Florida and Kansas. Distance
is no obstacle anymore!
One of the commissions
I did was based on photos someone e-mailed to me of their cats. I thought
it would be a good idea so I agreed to paint something for her. Click on
the image below to see the final painting.
The usual series of events
that are involved with commissioned works over the internet are the following;
1)
You e-mail me with your ideas for a painting and we discuss the details
and agree on a price,
size and perhaps general color scheme for the painting.
2)
If I feel comfortable with painting what you suggest then I'll make several
pencil sketches
and e-mail photos of these to you. You can inform me which sketch
you like and I'll base
the shapes of the final painting on that sketch.
3)
I'll start the painting and when it's finished (probably within several
weeks from the date
on which the sketch was finalized), I'll e-mail photos to you. If
you don't like the
finished painting, you don't have to buy it. I can just sell it somewhere
else as if it were
a 'normal' painting. At this point, if you still wanted a painting from
me , I could try again.
I won't, though, change a painting once it's finished.
4)
If you wanted the finished painting then at this point you would send me
a money order for
the amount we agreed to in our initial discussions. You could check my
auction feedback on
Yahoo auctions or Ebay if you wish to have some sense of security about
sending your
payment.
5)
Once I recieved your money order, I would pack the painting (very securely)
and send it to
you promptly . The parcel would probably arrive within several weeks.
So if you have any ideas
which you'd like to have incorperated into a painting, please contact me.
I may decide that I like your idea and paint a commissioned work just for
you!
