Death and 'Temporary' Characters
- Doubtless, no-one likes killing off their characters, but everyone seems to enjoy killing other characters, so in the name of good rpging, here we go.
- If you can, join a few temporary characters every now and again, simply to be killed in battle, perhaps captured, or so on. I and the other owners will be doing just that, and yes, they can have gifts. This is going to help Death's 'prices' greatly, and means he's likely to be more generous in returning the ones who want to go back...
- If your favourite character is surrounded, and outgifted, so to speak, please use some realism, and don't have them battle on for good. The land of the dead was originally introduced to encourage people to allow their characters to be killed in hopeless situations, and then have the horse returned. Never know, you might enjoy your curse, they can give an interesting spin on an old character...
- And finally, if you are planning on killing off your character, temporary or no, put their name in (brackets) [i.e. (Name)]. This way, everyone has an idea of who to 'gang up' on...

Captives and Capturing
- All captives are at the mercy of their captors; they may be treated as slaves or concubines (mares), sold, and so forth.
- The captive may be freed after two weeks, if the captive's player does not want them to remain a captive, however, they may remain longer if the player wishes (Organise this with your captor....Have fun with it!)
- To capture, there must be a three to one ratio in a battle or enemy lands; spies and general trespassers may be captured with two. (This includes horses loyal to say, Apollo and Yuri, who reside in their lands, if the king/queen so wishes and organises.)
- Captives must go where directed by their captors, and while they may be recalcitrant and generally disagreeable (lets face it, who wouldn't be?) They cannot escape nor do their captors significant harm. For the duration of you capture, the power of your gifts is effectively diminished toward your captors. (meaning you can't blast them with fire, enchant them to set you free, etc. Security measure!)

Gifts and Usage Guidelines
- There is a newer, 'points' system in place. the better you gameplay, and the more active you are, the more likely you are to recieve better gifts. Your posts won't actually be counted or 'graded' as such, since this owner is a little too busy for that, however, I will be checking. Also, if you tend to be more of a spy, you will recieve gifts to help in that area, if you tend to be more warriorlike, then you'll probably get warrior gifts and so on.....
- As for those already with gifts, stay active! If you stop being active, you will lose your gifts, starting with the most powerful of those. If you're going to be away and so on, simply post it on the ooc board.
- For those who are gifted, I also cannot stress the need to be descriptive with them enough! Simply saying something like: "Snowball created a ball of fire and threw it at Slate." is not enough! (yes I know, not everyone is capable of amazing posts, but adding a little to the above will improve the general gameplay). If you consistently post poorly, your gift may be taken from you. (obviously, this is something I don't want to do, so put a little effort in huh? I accept, some days you have no time though)
- On the same note, don't go overboard with the linguistics, to the point where someone reading your post cannot understand what's going on. Fancy language has its place, but only when it is well used, not..."Valkeyrie's sleek obsidians strike terra pointedly, dial extended to enhance facade, in ominous placings." (I'm sorry, I never was good at fancy language!) Okay, that is still understandable, but you get my drift. Although, some wording as used in the above does serve to enhance your posts.
Territories
- All territory owners must be active, or the territory will be put up for grabs.
- If you'd like to challenge for a territory, simply post your challenge within that territory. If there is no reply within four days, the challenger automatically wins (reply must be from the lead mare/lead stallion of the territory). Otherwise, the lead mare/stallion fight the challenger, the winning combatant takes the territory. (If the combatants themselves cannot decide who wins, then the appropriate ruler will be the judge).
- The same method applies to challenges for a position (individual territory positions up to the relevant territory owners), only the king or queen of the territory will judge if the combatants cannot reach a decision.

Breeding
- Firstly, No graphic breeding!
- Unless they are a captive (see above for captive rules), then both parties must agree. They do not have to be mates to breed.
- The mare will be in foal for a minimum of one week, otherwise the length of pregnancy is up to you (keep this in perspective) No more than three weeks in foal.
- It is up to those breeding to choose the stats of the foal, however, the gods will choose the gifts (you may put in a 'can I have this one please', it will most likely be appreciated)
Battling
- No powerplaying, if you do, your opponent has full right to ignore you, however, there is likely to be some powerplaying with certain gifts, and this I can understand, just keep it in perspective.
- When using gifts, and with physical battling, remember you are not invincible, you cannot avoid every hit and so on. Please do not treat your gift as though you have unlimited reserves of energy (energy horses excepted, and even they have limits). - In some situations, it is inevitable that a character will die, such as if a character happens to be cornered by two opponents with powerful gifts the one cannot match. Not everyone wants to get rid of their characters, which is part of the reason the land of the dead was introduced. Keep things realistic, let your character die, and work out a deal with Death, in the name of good rpging!
- On the same realistic note, do not pretend you can 'hear' what occurs in another territory, (unless you have sound, and vision, if you know what to look for). This sort of thing does tend to ruin the gameplay as well, so wait until summoned before attending a battle, unless it's a routine visit at a bad time.
