Adapted from the classic book by John Steinbeck, The Grapes of Wrath is a surprising and gripping look at the maltreatment and the hard times settlers had when forced from their homes in the Midwest to leave to California for work where the wages are low and the cruelty is high. A very faithful adaptation to Steinbeck’s novel brings this harsh reality to life. It gets full marks; the movie is absolutely perfect! A wonderful role for Henry Fonda who was nominated for an Academy Award for his performance as Tom Joad.
