The late Chris Farley plays a clumsy dimwit who must go around the country selling auto-parts to companies in order to make needed money to pay their overdue debt. If they don't it would result in a corporate takeover by an extremely powerful automobile manufacturer. The plot is weak, but the acting is thin but funny. Overall, Tommy Boy is poorly done. Probably the biggest complaint this film gets is that David Spade's character is unmercifully cruel and sarcastic and the film offers no explanation for his behavior. Farley's character is extremely dopey doesn't compliment the film one bit! On the bright side, there are some outrageously funny jokes which makes it a delightful watch. Not for children.
