YOU KNOW BY NOW, THAT I LOVE NATURE.

THIS SONG IS VERY MEANINGUL FOR ME BECAUSE I WAS BORN IN 1939. MY MOTHER SANG THIS SONG TO ME MANY TIMES.

SHE WENT TO ATLANTIC CITY NEW JERSEY, AND SOMEWHERE ON THE BOARDWALK SHE STEPPED INTO A BOOTH AND MADE A SIMPLE RECORDING. SHE SUBSTITUTED MY NAME AND THE NAME OF MY TWIN BROTHER KENNY FOR THE ORIGINAL WORDS OF "JIMMY" WILL GO TO SLEEP IN HIS OWN LITTLE ROOM AGAIN. IT IS A LOVELY MEMORY.

EVERY EVENING WE WOULD GATHER AROUND THE RADIO AND LISEN TO THE WAR REPORTS AND PRAY FOR THE WAR TO END. WHEN IT DID I WAS SO WAS HAPPY TO HAVE UNCLE CHARLES COME HOME WHOLE. I STILL HAVE THE OLD PORTABLE TYPEWRITER THAT SAVED HIS LIFE. HE HAD THAT TYPEWRITER WITH HIM ALL OVER EUROPE AND HIS WRITING SKILLS KEPT HIM FROM THE FRONT LINES.

THERE'L BE BLUE BIRDS OVER
"THE WHITE CLIFFS OF DOVER"

Melody - and text Nat Burton & Walter Kent

There'll be blue birds over
The white cliffs of Dover,
Tomorrow, just you wait and see.

There'll be love and laughter
And peace ever after
Tomorrow, when the world is free.

The shepherd will tend his sheep,
The valley will bloom again
And Jimmy will go to sleep,
In his own little room again.

There'll be blue birds over
The white cliffs of Dover,
Tomorrow, just you wait and see.

There'll be bluebirds over
the white cliffs of Dover,
Someday, when the world is free.

There will be joy and laughter
and love ever after,
someday, just you wait and see

There'll be bluebirds over
the white cliffs of Dover,
Someday, when the world is free.
